Are Rob and Rich available to work with players?

Yes, they are Home Run Baseball Academy's primary professional instructors who share their 20 years of professional baseball experience with players and coaches.


Do you offer programs to schools?

Yes, Home Run Baseball Academy is available to schools. Classes or teams can make use of our indoor training facility and/or professional instructors. Our Club House/meeting room provides a great classroom setting.

Would Rob and Rich visit schools as a guest speaker or instructor?

Yes, depending on their schedules, Rob and Rich are available to attend your school function or gym class.

Would Rob or Rich make special appearances?

Yes, Rob or Rich will visit schools, attend fundraising events, corporate picnics/parties etc.

Who did you learn the most from in the Major Leagues?

Rob: Paul Molitor, Darren Daulton, Bill Buckner, Dennis Holmberg, Garth Iorg, Jon Zuber and Rich Butler.

Rich: Cito Gaston, Lou Pinella, Mel Queen, Alex Rodriquez, Wade Boggs, JJ Cannon, Billy Hatcher, Frank Howard, George Bell, Garth Iorg, Ernie Whitt, Marty Pevey, Jack Doherty, Doug Ault, Bill Buckner, Willie Upshaw, Larry Hisle, Rob Butler and Dad (Frank Butler).  

How old were you when you started playing?

Rob: East York House League Age 11

Rich: East York House League Age 10

Did you have superstitions?

Rob: I wore my high socks for good luck...I read a book before games to relax...When I was going good, I'd eat the same meal everyday from my lucky mall food court...I had to have my Yoda (Star Wars) t shirt under my uniform everyday so the "Force" would be with me.

Rich:  I had to dress the right way, eat the right food, watch the right movie, listen to the right song and walk into the batter's box the right way.  I also had a routine in the on deck circle.  

Where was your favourite place to travel to?

Rob: New York (Yankee Stadium) because the legends played there.
Rich:  To the ballpark
